Right from my childhood I never aspired to be an actor and I never liked acting. I always wanted to know how society functions.

Being in politics is a natural progression for me but being in the cinema, dancing with heroines and delivering dialogues I feel very awkward in reality.

I am not against cinema as I love cinema. It is because of cinema that I have an image of an actor, get paid well  and it has helped me raise certain issues.

I thought I would do just seven films and retire because my misery in personal life never let me feel that cinema was a comfort to vent my frustration. But I respect cinema for being a medium to reach people and I would do films for that reason.

If Johnny had been a hit, I would have quit immediately, but it was a flop so I continued.

I need money to live my life. But, I am not passionate about money, nor am I here only to earn money.

Many come forward to donate money, but now I don’t want that. If I need, I will take. With transparency, no one including me can misuse the party funds.

Right from my childhood I never aspired to be an actor and I never liked acting. I always wanted to know how society functions.

In India, a politician’s sons and grandsons enter politics and they say they are the youth. That’s not correct — young intellectuals from the society should join politics and we need their contribution.

Jana Sena’s ultimate goal is to not grab power. We are there to raise issues and to question the leadership about various problems.

When you can’t solve the problem, don’t assure people. As a politician, you have to represent people’s problems and stand by them till that problem is solved.
